I always know that when I have a wedding at The Darlington House it will be beautiful. I guess that is just one of my favorite styles of architecture and the vintage California feel is always so romantic. Daniela and Jeremy were such a unique, creative, and fun couple. From the start or the day I knew it would be a great time. I pulled up to the house and could hear Jeremy and the groomsmen laughing upstairs from the street! As I entered the courtyard I could hear the girls, also having a great time with 80′s music playing throughout the house courtesy of Elite British DJ, Mick Scrivener. I loved the pink theme and the smell of roses was everywhere. Since the Daniela’s signature scent is roses, it was perfect that she had such a lovely rose bouquet by Patrick Higgins of Artistic Florals. The whole day and evening was seamlessly pulled together by Pear Trees Caterer-Coordinator extraordinaire, Stefanie Martinez Muse. Here are a few of the beautiful wedding photos!
I love when my wedding clients become my family portrait clients. It is such a privilege to see and photograph some of the most amazing and memorable times of life. I photographed Amie and Sean’s wedding just last year and just got to work with them again for the photography of their new baby, Kensington. Kenzie is such a happy and mellow little baby (Amie says that’s all from Sean!) and it was so much fun to hang out with the family in downtown San Diego for the afternoon. Here are some of the cutest pics!
One location that I have always wanted to shoot at is The San Juan Capistrano Mission. The Mission was founded more than two hundred years ago and the serenity and peace of the gardens, fountains, and old adobe walls is quite a break from reality once you walk through the gates. It is also a gorgeous place to take photos, especially for a bride and groom! OR… in this case… the perfect opportunity for a married couple to celebrate their anniversary and get the wedding photos that they never got done on the wedding day! When Herbie called me to arrange our surprise photo shoot as a present to Marjeri, I was so excited that they chose me! You see, Herbie and Marjeri are both “in the industry” (Herbie is a Videographer and Marjeri is a coordinator at Events by Design) so they could really have their choice of photographers who would love to work with them! I was so flattered and excited that they called me. We had an amazing shoot and then went out to dinner and had a great time just catching up. It was sooo hard to pick favorites for this (they are a very photogenic family!) but here are just a few from our afternoon together.
A special thanks also to Bridals By Susanti for the gown, David for his beautiful flowers, and Studio 158 for the lovely hairstyle!
Lately I have been on a quest to find new and interesting locations for my photo shoots. So I was very happy when Carly and Clayton suggested taking photos on the campus of UCSD, where they met and fell in love. Not only did they suggest the spot, but they also scouted perfect areas, sent me a highlighted map, and secured a golf cart for easy transportation around the grounds. I love this couple and think it is so completely awesome that they got involved in the process and planning!! I think it just makes the whole experience of getting married and taking photos that much better when you are an active participant. Carly said she was a little nervous before, but I couldn’t tell a bit. I love how easy and natural they were in front of the camera and now can’t wait for the big day. Here are some favorites!
Jennifer and Lee were married in a small and intimate ceremony on a private veranda at The San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California. I loved the family feel of this wedding and also the simplicity and elegance. There was such a personal feel to all the details and when Jennifer and Lee said their vows, they both made each other cry. San Ysidro Ranch is located just south of Santa Barbara in the exclusive enclave of Montecito on over 500 rolling acres of unspoiled coastal landscape in the foothills of the Santa Ynez Mountains. The Ranch overlooks the Channel Islands and offers dazzling panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Aside from the elegant beauty of the location, the intoxicating smells of the garden were truly amazing. I think it was one of the most beautiful gardens I have ever walked through. It smelled like orange blossoms, lavender, rosemary, sage, thyme, and pure freshness all mixed together…here are a few favorites from the day!
