I was so excited to see the new Bride and Bloom magazine on the newsstand yesterday! I absolutely love this magazine and think it is awesome that I get to share detail shots like these through them:) Here it is from Laura and Tom’s wedding in February!
I am always so honored to be able to photograph a newborn baby, especially for a first time mom. It is such a beautiful and happy time of life and I feel very luck to witness and photograph a few of the sweet moments. When I found out that my good friend and amazing coordinator, Kiley Walker, was pregnant for the first time, I was so excited for her! I honestly could not believe how fast the months flew by, before I knew it Baby Will had already arrived. We got together at Kiley’s home last week to take pictures and it was a beautiful shoot. Here are a few of my favorites.
I know I have mentioned it before… but I absolutely love Super 8 filming. There is just something so authentic and naturally beautiful about the medium, it is what I chose for my own wedding and I highly recommend it for a fine art approach to documenting the motion of the wedding day. Last August, I had the pleasure of working with Modern 8 Films at April and Jason’s wedding at The Darlington House in La Jolla. I was so excited to see their vintage camera and their skill in capturing the moments. I also thought it was very cool that the couple decided to do a filmed engagement shoot, which was shown at the reception and brought tears to everyone’s eyes. Modern 8 Films is owned and operated by Alana and Ted Hinkle, a husband and wife team with a true passion for what they create. Here is a sample of what they put together for April and Jason’s wedding!
February 18, 2009 - 5:53 pmLa Traductora - I hsve seen the work of Modern 8 Films. They are true artists, bringing a romantic, movie-like sensibility to everything they do. I would certainly ask them to shoot my wedding.
Happy VALLENTYNE’S day! I am in the Bahamas shooting an amazing destination wedding right now. It is so beautiful here, absolutely indescribable. I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of this wedding weekend and can’t wait to show you the images! Here is one of where I am staying!
I was just working on my blog and decided I have to brag about how great it is for a bit:) I am so happy I switched my old Blogger blog to this new ProPhoto theme WordPress one. It is far superior in every way and was so affordable and easy to set up. I think the best parts were:
1. it is totally customizable even if you know nothing about HTML
2. It imported my entire old blog, with photos so I didn’t have to start from scratch!
I highly recommend these guys…. not just to photographers! I know for a fact that there are some coordinators, florists, and DJ’s out there (you know who you are!!!) who seriously need a new blog with the capability of showing beautiful images of their work. Even for my brides to blog about wedding planning it would be perfect. So, if you want a discount just give them this code: HMVALL535 and sign up HERE. Check out their video too:)
